  1. Once when I was a mid-level IC, managers were oversubscribed. Rather than allocate more resources to hiring managers they had a senior IC take the senior-only "Lead Without Authority" training and recap it for mid-levels. Then assigned us manager-ish responsibilities dmofengineering/1387476463725649920
