  1. I feel the folks frustrated at signalapp dropping SMS have valid concerns but for a world that no longer exists RCS is coming like it nor not, Google, Samsung & the 3 major US carriers support/actively push it. There's no equivalent RCS API for Android and SMS in non-US is rare

      I too want to live in an open standards world with the great UX of transparent upgrades from SMS/RCS to Signal but a practical look at the ecosystem shows this being less of a possibility and Signal as an NGO has to allocate resources more selectivity than most other platforms
